Omnivore. Eats in aquariums all standard food.
It is a highly productive species and is an egg-scatterer among fine-leaved plants. It is best bred in a special breeding aquarium
The Glowlight tetra is a peaceful shoaling fish that fits in the majority of communitytanks.
It thrives in most aquariums and places no major demands on the interior of the aquarium. However, the aquarium should contain some plants and have a not too bright bottom, preferably also a slightly dimmed light (e.g. with the help of some free floating plants).
It is a very common and popular aquarium fish.
Males are slender than females, which especially during the spawning period are rounder.
