Omnivore. Eats in aquariums all standard food.
It is an egg-scatterer among plants and is relatively easily bred and productive. It is best bred in a special breeding aquarium where you move a pair.
The Rosy tetra is a peaceful shoaling fish that fits in most communitytanks with other peaceful fish.
It thrives in most aquariums and places no major demands on the interior of the aquarium, although the aquarium should include quite a few plants (some of which are free floating plants), have a slightly dimmed lighting and a dark bottom.
Males are more slender than females, which especially during the spawning period are rounder. Males have a more extended dorsal fin and stronger colours.
The pink colour varies depending on where it originates.
